Shaping the future together

At the National ACORN Conference held in Randwick in November 2024, we received valuable feedback and suggestions from delegates through the comments wall at our stand. Inspired by the enthusiasm and insights shared, Multigate and ACORN saw this as an excellent opportunity to expand the concept, enabling even more people to share their thoughts and ideas.

HUMAN-CENTRED DESIGN

We received some great feedback and suggestions from Acorn delegates at our "YOUR VOICE, OUR DESIGN" comments wall at the National Acorn Conference at Randwick in November 2024. As a result, Multigate and Acorn thought it would be great opportunity to extend the concept and give more people an opportunity to have their say.

A different topic area will be explored each week - the best 3 submissions will be published and the submitter will receive a thank you gift pack valued at over $50 in recognition of their contribution to continuous improvement.

To be considered eligible for this promotion, entrants must be 18 years or older and work in a healthcare related role in an Australian healthcare facility. Multigate and Acorn staff and direct family members are precluded from entering this competition. Submissions must be made via entry form located on Multigate's webiste. All mandatory information must be provided. The submission form must be received within the promotion period (i.e. Between 8am Monday and 12:00pm Friday).

This promotion will run in repeatable weekly cycle, over a 6 week period. It will commence at 8:00am on Monday 20 January 2025 and conclude 12:00pm Friday XX February 2025. The topic question for the week will be unveiled each Monday and eligible program participants will have until 12:00pm on Friday to submit their entry. Participants can enter as frequently as they like via the submission form located on the Multigate website. This promotion is a game of skill not chance. Each eligible submission received will be reviewed by Multigate and Acorn and the best 3 submissions for the week's topic area will be jointly determined (also referred to as winners). The judges decision is final. No further correspondence will be entered into. The 3 best submissions will be published on the Multigate website (and potentially other digital locations) on following Monday and the winners will be contacted to organise delivery of their thank you gift pack. Multigate and Acorn reserve the right to cancel or modify this promotion at any time, for any reason, without advanced notice.

The top 3 eligible submissions each week will receive a thank you gift pack from Multigate and Acorn valued at over $50, which will contain the following items; a Multigate branded insulated drink bottle, pen, and purse with lollies, an Acorn branded mug and torch, and a box of chocolates. The gift pack is not redeemable for cash. Winners will be contacted by a representative from Multigate or Acorn, and appropriate delivery arranged. The estimated value of total prize pool for 3 winners per week, over 6 week promotion is $900.

^Multigate use 3rd party specialists to assess our impact and guide our environmental stewardship and carbon neutrality programs. We use our previous years' assessment of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from our procedure pack portfolio to forecast our emissions for the current financial year. The equivalent number of carbon credits are then pre-purchased and retired to offset our forecasted GHG emissions and enable us to claim carbon neutrality for the period. We identify and rectify any difference between what was forecasted and our actual GHG emissions during the period as part of our next assessment, to ensure that we have adequately accounted for, and offset, our GHG emissions in line with program boundaries and requirements set by South Pole in order for them to validate our neutrality claim and allow Multigate to use their Climate Neutral Company label. Our decision to switch climate action partners (from South Pole to Carbon Neutral) has resulted in our planned revalidation process being changed and delayed. We are currently in the processes of auditing our FY23 impact and revalidating our FY24 program with Carbon Neutral (www.carbonneutral.com.au)

Based on an average Australian petrol passenger car that uses 11.1L/100km and travels 11,067km year (abs.gov.au 2020) and Petrol EF of 2.38 kgCO2e/L (industry.gov.au 2021), we calculate emission generated at 0.26418 kgCO2e/km travelled and 2,923.68 kgCO2e per car/per year.

Supported projects

Our project selection is focused on development of renewable energy solutions in areas where our products are manufactured. In addition to compensating for our emissions, we are also supporting an Australian biodiversity project in Mount Sandy that works with the traditional owners to permanently protect a culturally important pocket of their land.
